M&A Associate

Your goal

Kick-start Your Career in Mergers & Acquisitions as an Associate at Marktlink Antwerp

Are you eager to immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of mergers and acquisitions? At Marktlink, we offer ambitious professionals the opportunity to launch their careers with immediate responsibility, hands-on experience, and meaningful client interaction from day one.

Founded in the Netherlands in 1996, Marktlink has been shaping the future of mid-market businesses for over 25 years. Today, we operate from 23 offices across 12 countries, with a growing team of more than 500 professionals. Since opening in 2019, our Antwerp office has grown into a stronghold of M&A expertise, powered by a close-knit team with over 45 years of combined experience.

Our vision is bold: to become Europe’s leading independent M&A advisory firm by 2030. In Belgium, this means expanding to a team of 20 professionals across four offices — and you could be part of that journey.

To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking one full-time Associate to join our team in Antwerp. As an Associate at Marktlink Belgium, you will collaborate closely with seasoned M&A professionals, advising entrepreneurs throughout the entire transaction process — from business valuation and market research to deal structuring, negotiations, and closing.

Who are we looking for?

You are a driven, analytical person with a strong interest in corporate finance and entrepreneurship. You ideally have at least one to two years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate finance, private equity, audit or equity research. You're ready to hit the ground running and eager to grow in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment.

If you're looking for a steep learning curve, real responsibility from day one, and the chance to shape the future of Belgian SMEs, we’d love to hear from you!

Your responsibilities

As part of our team, you’ll be involved in every stage of the M&A process. Your work will be varied, challenging, and impactful — no two days are the same. Here’s what you can expect:

• Building financial models and business plans, and conducting valuations

• Writing key documents such as information memorandums, management presentations, and pitch materials

• Setting up and managing digital data rooms and following up on due diligence processes

• Interacting with potential buyers and sellers, playing a role in the flow of information, coordination of questions, and ongoing dialogue throughout the deal process.

Your profile

• You hold a university degree in economics, finance or a related field

• You ideally have 1-2 years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate finance, private equity, audit or equity research

• You're entrepreneurial, socially engaged and combine strategic thinking with commercial awareness

• Analytical, accurate and driven — you know how to set goals and go after them

• A true team player, but also comfortable working independently

• Eager to learn, highly motivated and always looking to improve

• You’re comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint and know how to use them to tell a clear story

• You communicate with ease, build strong relationships, and speak and write fluently in both Dutch and English

Why us?

• An attractive salary package with clear opportunities for growth

• Responsibility and impact from day one

• Strong focus on your development, with a clear career path, hands-on learning and coaching from experts

• A dynamic, ambitious work environment with amazing colleagues
